About time

it's a tricky thing.
We finished recording all of our tracks with Brian Spragg (Morgantown, WV), of it's Birds, and sent them away to be mixed and mastered. We will get to all of that in the next post when we have the songs back and done.

You have seen the packaging, and we will include the lyrics, so get at us if you want a cd, button, sticker, or spraypaint shirt.

The halloween show was awesome. Having Don the Reader hop on was super, and we have plent of pics on the myspace, plus more to be put up. We do have vid from that show.

The 123 show with Trigger Effect the next week went well. Jarred made it up specifically for that show. It is pretty amazing when your friends move away to move further in life, but still make special trips to see what you are doing and especially with this band, it is an appreciated effort. I hope more people can get in to our shit like that, but if not who fuckin cares. Jarred is awesome. Plus its pretty great when all of your friends that may see you practice, or see you a couple times a month still come out and pay money to go to a show. That is definitely appreciated cause we have played shows to zero people like every other band has, and it is better when you are in your home town and have a good amount of your friends occupying the immediate space. Parkersburg was like that too. Thank you Trigger Effect for playing that show too. Swell men.

Our next booked show is in April but we will have some more before then.

We finished a new song this week, and will be starting another one here in the next couple weeks. No slow song yet, but we will get there...in due timeI do not think we need to write one actually. Cursed and Trap Them have covered that base well enough this year.

New vid up on youtube, and more to come. We have more vid from that Pburg show, and the Halloween and 123 shows yet to put up.

For now, that is everything going on with Ancient Shores.

Real Tuff

The Epic show got cancelled. Pulled out from under 5 good bands.

The 213 Green St show is still on for Sept 26th. We will post our flyer for it if we can find an operating scanner.

Also still on are the 10/2, 10/3, 10/4, 10/31 shows. The Halloween show is suited for confetti and good times. Come hang. Thanks to Andy, Matt, and Evan for hosting the 10/2, 10/31 shows and Chuck for having us at Yesterdays on 10/3 and thanks to Justin and Jarred for getting us a house to play in on 10/4. We appreciate the hospitality. Shit has just been whack with getting shows together.

Evan starts tracking drums Sunday (the 21st). Not sure about guitars, bass, and vocals yet. It might be a drums only EP.

We did not get to record at Skylight. We had our dates. We had to cancel them.
We will be recording at the same studio as It's Birds! We will post those dates when we get them back.

So many things going on in the world. Plenty of surf videos from summer '08 will be going up, election '08, football, baseball playoffs, replaying footage from the olympics, some really rad movies, etc.
Please go check out the King of Kong on DVD, and if you have netflix, it is a 'watch instantly' gem.

We hope to see you all at shows. We will be happy to riff out in any cave, just come out to rage. We got some buttons and stickers in, and made some new shirts. We will be pressing our cds ourselves, just printing out our own cd labels and making our own sleeves with the artwork we showed you on here before. If we actually put prices on items, it is always at cost. We are not in any debt or anything so spend those extra dollars on tips for bands that are on the road 10 months a year or putting themselves in serious debt for the privlege to play in fron of you/us.

Fall Plans

Show with Recession and Civilian September 18th here in Morgantown. 213 Green Street. In a basement. October 2nd (pending) with Black Ships, here in Morgantown.
So that got us thinking. How about we play shows on the way to recording this November(?), and call it who can play a shittier show tour. Get another band to book dates simultaneously, and see who can play shittier places. Use pictures, vids, etc to document it and vomit it up on the internets maybe. The amazing thing about playing shittier places are that the people that throw these shows are usually more accomodating and down right great with whom to hang. The whole experience is usually great vibes, or at least interesting ones. This fall is cool shows and recording. Hopefully we can do a split, maybe a vinyl, a festival too.

At the moment

We are set to record on July 17th, July 18th, and July 19th. The tracks will be Client State, Welcome to the Fucking Times, Absolute Time/Absolute Space/Absolute God, and (possibly a fourth)Listen to Cursed or When Everything Goes to Hell. We are recording at the Skylight Studio in Fairless Hills, PA. I think we all were digging the time he spent with Turmoil, the Minor Times, and Circa Survive so we emailed him up and worked out some dates.. Right now we have no shows scheduled before tour. We are going to be practicing a lot, and giving Joel as many reps as needed to feel totally comfortable with the set. Right now we have seven songs; we played a full set a couple Fridays ago and it went well. Greg did not throw up (involuntarily) at the show, but did experience some minor nausea and party syndrome. We will be bringing this set to 5 cities on a run with Bearathon at the end of July, so then when we get back we will be writing some more. We are going to try to get on some fests in the upcoming seasons, and watch some bands rage and then go rage ourselves.

Let's keep this between you and us. This is where we would like to hang, so fuckin go listen to some tracks on the myspace or pahardcore.com and throw down some conversation here.
